What is Local Food Month?
The partnering efforts of Transition Town Peterborough and Farms at Work once again brings Local Food Month to Peterborough City and county. A wide variety of Events throughout September will celebrate and support local farmers and culture workers, thus strengthen rural and urban connections and support area tourism.
Everyone in the community is invited to participate in Farm Tours and food-related activities sponsored by a variety of community organizations. Take the Local Food Challenge and tell about what you did on Facebook.. This annual celebration of local abundance culminates at the Purple Onion Festival on Sat., Sept 24th at Millennium Park in the city – in its 7th year!
